2.45" Tower-Eyed, Erbenochile Trilobite From Ou Driss - Top Quality!

This is a top quality, 2.45" long, tower-eyed, Erbenochile trilobite from a very unusual location. Nearly all of the Erbenochile come from near Foum Zguid but this one was quarried near Jbel Ou Driss, Morocco. The rock is much harder at this location, and more time consuming to prepare.

It is laid out perfectly prone and the preparation was done by one of the best preparitors in the world and the results speak for themselves.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
