2.65" Lustrous Epidote Crystals with Quartz - Peru
This is a cluster of deep pistachio-green, beautifully formed epidote crystals with a small pocket of quartz. This specimen was collected from Peru, but the specific mine from which it was collected is unknown. Based on the structure of the epidote crystals and the matrix, it is likely from the Lima Department or Pisco Province of Peru.
Epidote is a green silicate mineral that is commonly found in regionally metamorphosed rocks. It often forms lustrous, elongated, and interconnected crystals that are highly coveted by collectors. While nearly all epidote is green, it may take on many different shades and tones from yellowish to deep green.
