We just launched out new wholesale areas. Check out the wholesale fossils, minerals & crystals section for more listings. Very little of the wholesale inventory that we currently have in stock is listed on the website. This is a wholesale lot of 20 lbs of beautiful, polished blue calcite from Madagascar. The lot is made up of 14 pieces measuring from approximately 4 to 6" across/tall. Each piece has the bottom cut flat allowing them to stand upright on a flat surface and create a beautiful display without the need of a stand.

At the wholesale price for the lot it works out to only $10/lb and about $14 per piece. On average these pieces can easily retail for several times the wholesale price. You will receive the exact lot pictured

This blue calcite was mined from the Norcross-Madagascar blue calcite fields. This type of calcite likely occurred as a massive conglomerate, formed from mineral rich water solidifying following accumulation as flowstone and/or through precipitative processes.

Calcite, CaCO3, is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. The other polymorphs are the minerals aragonite and vaterite. Calcite crystals are trigonal-rhombohedral, though actual calcite rhombohedra are rare as natural crystals. However, they show a remarkable variety of habits including acute to obtuse rhombohedra, tabular forms, and prisms. Calcite exhibits several twinning types adding to the variety of observed forms. It may occur as fibrous, granular, lamellar, or compact. Cleavage is usually in three directions parallel to the rhombohedron form. Its fracture is conchoidal, but difficult to obtain.
