Rare, 3" Ammonite (Schloenbachia) Fossil - Kazakhstan

This is a rare ammonite fossil of the species Schloenbachia varians that was collected from Mangishiak, Kazakhstan. Most of the rock has been cleaned away from the ammonite, with the remaining section of rock measuring 3.6 x 2". The base of this rock has been cut flat, allowing for aesthetic presentation of the ammonite without the need for a display stand.

A sealant has been painted over that ammonite. This sealant brings out the color of the shell which contrasts nice against the beige-grey rock.

This is a unique piece out of an old collection that we recently acquired, so it's the only one like it that we have available.
