Elm (Ulmus) And Willow (Salix) Leaves - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a fossil leaf plate from the Green River Formation, Utah. It contains a 5.2" elm (Ulmus) leaf and a 2.3" willow leaf section. There is an unidentified branch and leaf along one edge of the specimen and another unidentified fossil. This specimen has a repaired crack.

While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.

Comes with an acrylic stand.

A note on Green River leaf identifications. Over 60 described leaf bearing plants have been identified from this formation, many of which have very similar leaves. We have done our best to provide identifications based on the resources available to us, but we are not paleobotany experts and cannot guarantee that all will be 100% correct.
