Detailed Fossil Marsh Beetle and Long Legged Fly in Baltic Amber
These are beautifully detailed, 44 million year old fossil insects preserved in Baltic amber. The insects include a marsh beetle (family Scirtidae) and a long legged fly (order Diptera). The beetle is about 2.8mm wide in a 30 x 17 x 6mm piece of amber.
As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
