Beautiful Crawfordsville Crinoid Association - 6.5"

This is a beautiful association of three different crinoids from the famous Crawfordsville, Indiana crinoid locality collected by Tom Witherspoon. The largest crinoid on the matrix is an outstanding Agaricocrinus americanus which has about 8 inches of attached stem. To the left of it is the crown of a Macrocrinus mundulus and below it is a Barycrinus stellatus.

The preparation on this piece is spectacular with all of the crinoids presented in outstanding, 3D relief. It represents many of hours of work by one of the best preparators around.

The Mississippian aged Edwardsville Formation exposed in Montgomery County, Indiana is world renown for it's amazing crinoids. There are over 60 known species from the formation, and the preservation is as good as it gets.
