.95" Allosaurus Tooth In Matrix - Skull Creek Quarry

This is a nice .95" long tooth of Allosaurus fragilis from the Skull Creek Quarry near Dinosaur, CO. It was left partially embedded in the sandstone matrix in which it was found. This is an average size Allosaurus tooth. There are a number of crack repairs and shattered areas have been restored to fill in gaps and stabilize the fossil.

It comes from the Salt & Pepper Quarry at Skull Creek, near Dinosaur Colorado. This tooth came from a sandy layer in the quarry about a meter below the layers that contain articulated dinosaur remains. This sandy layer contains teeth and tumbled bones fragments but no articulation, most likely representing an event such as a flood.
