4.7" Pennsylvanian Fossil Fern (Macroneuropteris) Plate - Kentucky

These are fossil fern (Macroneuropteris sp.) leaflets from the Breathitt Formation of Leslie County, Kentucky. Macroneuropteris is an extinct family of seed ferns from the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian aged forests that formed the coal shales of Kentucky and Ohio.

The largest leaflet on this plate is 2" long. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
