3.8" Beautiful Zlichovaspis Trilobite With Enrolled Reedops

This is a stunning association of an exceptionally nice Zlichovaspis rugosa trilobite along with an enrolled Reedops. It was collected from the Lhandar Formation near Atchana, Morocco. The Zlichovaspis is slightly arched but would be over 4" long if outstretched and has a gorgeous, multi-colored shell. Preparation is excellent and the genal spines have been prepared free-standing. There is an enrolled reedops just to the side of its tail. A very aesthetic trilobite association with NO RESTORATION, a top quality piece.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
