3.1" Pennsylvanian Fossil Flora Plate - Kentucky
This is a 3.1" wide flora plate that contains herbaceous horsetail (Sphenophyllum sp.) fossil leaves, a limb section and a other unidentified flora fragments, collected from the Breathitt Formation of Leslie County, Kentucky. Sphenophyllum is an extinct genus of herbaceous horsetails from the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian aged forests that formed the coal shales of Eastern Kentucky and Ohio.
