Serrated, 2.89" Tyrannosaur Tooth In Rock With Bones - Montana

True T. rex teeth are some of the most sought after and collectable fossils out there. When we get them in they are typically sold within hours. This piece is very special because it's not only a nice, unrestored T. rex tooth, but the tooth is still located within it's original matrix.

The tooth itself is beautiful and 2.89" in length. The serrations are present on mesial and distal edges with only a few missing areas. It's located in it's original matrix which is full of a wide variety of bone fragments, including an unidentified partial radius (arm bone) and crocodile scute.

Comes with a display stand.

Because of its age and sedimentary composition, the Hell Creek Formation has become one of the most paleontologically studied areas in the world. 158 genera of animals and 64 genera of plants are known from the formation and new discoveries are made frequently. In addition to Tyrannosaurs, Ceratopsids, and Hadrosaurs, the formation has yielded remains of amphibians, reptiles, lizards, snakes and turtles, fish and sharks, avian and non-avian dinosaurs, and mammals. The Hell Creek Formation gives the most complete understanding of the environment just before the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction.
