2.6" Fossil Hackberry (Celtis) Leaf - Montana

This is a detailed fossil Celtis aspera (Hackberry) leaf, from the Fort Union Formation, Glendive, Montana. It is 60 million years old. The dark brown preservation of the leaf fossil contrasts well against the shale, and all the veins of the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaf where some of it flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
