2.5" Ordovician Starfish (Petraster?) - Morocco
This is a 2.5" wide, Ordovician aged starfish of the genus Petraster. It comes from the Tioririne Formation near Blekus, Morocco. The specimen shows an amazing amount of detail and the natural, orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
This starfish is in excellent condition. The rock even includes a small section of another starfish that preserved adjacent to the Petraster. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
