13" Dinosaur (Camarasaurus) Caudal Vertebrae - Metal Stand

This is a large, 13" long, caudal (tail) vertebrae from a Camarasaurus collected this past summer from our partner companies private quarry east of Dinosaur, Colorado. It comes with a custom made metal stand making it a very displayable piece.

The vertebrae was found and prepared from hard sandstone rather than softer matrix so it has very nice preservation with no crushing. There is some restoration to the ends of the processes as well as some minor surface restoration to the edges of the centrum. A very solid, heavy piece.

Camarasauru was a genus of sauropod dinosaur commonly found in the Morrison Formation. It was quite bulky, reaching lengths of up to 80 feet and a weight of about 50 tons.
