As we have grown we need to bring on additional staff to help photograph, package, and ship customer orders. Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor

Pay: DOE

FossilEra is the largest online retailer of authentic fossil specimens.  We have a very diverse client base spanning the range of collectors, educational institutions, museums and people just looking for a unique gift.  We pride ourselves in not only providing an unparalleled product, but an exceptional customer experience.

Currently are seeking another enthusiastic person to join our small but growing team in the role of shipping and warehouse lead.  This role will require a very hard working, responsible person who is a jack-of-all trades with the ability to take on any number of tasks required to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.  

As our staff grows, this person will need to be able to take on a more supervisory role, coordinating day-to-day warehouse operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on shipping and fulfillment of customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve any shipping related issues.
  • Safely and efficiently package unique and delicate items, many of which will require custom packaging.
  • Assist in the photography of fossil specimens.
  • Take responsibility to organization and cleanliness of the warehouse space.
  • Help out on any task needed to assure continuous and efficient operations at our warehouse.
  • Proactively identify problem areas, or areas where efficiency can be improved.
  • As our staff grows take on a supervisory role; Assigning and coordinating warehouse tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • A positive, “can do” attitude and a willingness to take on any assigned task.
  • Strong attention to detail and great focus.
  • Very good organizational skills.
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high quality standard.
  • Willing to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and via email.
  • You must have your own vehicle you maybe required to pick up supplies or drop of items for shipping occasionally.
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Microsoft Office, etc) 

Nice to Haves 

  • Basic photo editing experience with software such as Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop.
  • Basic carpentry skills.  You can build a shipping crate if needed.
  • A passion for fossils, minerals and natural history.
  • Personal experience selling items online such as running a store on Ebay or Etsy.


 

Warehouse Staff (Boxing, Organizing, Shipping, Fullfillment)

Pay: Starting $15/hour

We are seeking another enthusiastic person to join our small but growing warehouse staff.  This role is primarily manual labor tasks such as boxing items, organizing the warehouse, breaking down boxes, etc.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently package unique and delicate items for shipment. 
  • Shipping and fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Assist in the bulk photography of fossil specimens.
  • Keep the warehouse space clean and organized.
  • Unpack, breakdown boxes and inventory incoming items.
  • Help out on any task needed to assure continuous and efficient operations at our warehouse.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related work experience.
  • The willingness to do repetitive, manual labor tasks such as boxing items for hours at a time while maintaining focus and quality.
  • Be able to work very fast and efficiency, and find areas where efficiency can be improved.
